The picturesque Tegernsee is located about 50 km south of Munich. Tegernsee Valley is surrounded by mountains and its scenic beauty offers the perfect place for your deep relaxation. Upper Bavaria is an ideal starting point to visit the country of Austria, as state border is only a few kilometers away. Further interesting cities are Innsbruck (80 km) and Salzburg (125 km), both easy to reach.
You should definitely visit the pedestrian zone of Salzburg's historical city centre with its narrow alleys and shops. You can enjoy both a visit to the impressive castle Hohensalzburg and wonderful view over the city.

In 1873 King Ludwig II. purchased the Herreninsel in Chiemsee, Bavaria's largest lake and built his magnificent castle, inspired by Versailles. You can board a ferry in Prien to reach the Castle.

With an altitude of ca 2900 meters, Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany. A funicular ride to the top offers visitors an impressive mountain panorama. Nearby market town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen with its picturesque houses and facades invites you to explore it.
